1. Make sure you’re in love with their photography style 

Talk about how the couple should make sure they understand the difference between terms like lifestyle photography vs editorial photography, dark & moody vs light & bright vs colorful photography edits. 

2. Make sure your personalities click before you commit to spending your wedding day with them

Go over the photographer’s materials and chat with them to make sure you’re a great fit before you decide to work with them. Have your questions ready and don’t be afraid to ask them anything you need to know to make sure they are the perfect choice for you.  If you’re not feeling it, move on.

3. Check to see that your photographer has experience photographing your event so you can feel confident that they can capture your day beautifully. 

4. Review their testimonials and see what past clients have to say– you can also look at third party sites like Wedding Wire and The Knot to see what their reviews say on an unbiased platform.

5. Make sure your photographer is not only comfortable with the logistics of your destination wedding but also within your budget for travelling to your destination
